Hikes Remembered - Hiking Logbook Journal
A hiking logbook with space for 60 hikes and a format that captures both the stats and the experience.
Hikes Remembered gives you two pages per trail. Enough structure to log the details that matter, enough open space to make it personal. After a few dozen hikes, trails start to blur together. This keeps them straight.
What You'll Track
Each entry includes fields for:
- Trail name, date, location, who you hiked with
- Distance, duration, elevation gain
- Trail type (loop, out-and-back, or one-way)
- Weather, season, trail traffic, difficulty
- First time or returning visit
- Overall rating and views rating
- "Do It Again?" indicator
- Flora and fauna sightings
- Open notes page for observations, sketches, or photos
The flora and fauna section gives wildlife sightings a dedicated home. Birds, wildflowers, animals you spotted. Over time you build a record of what shows up on different trails in different seasons.
The "First Time / Returning" checkbox lets you log the same trail multiple times. A hike in April and the same hike in October are different experiences worth documenting separately.
Why Keep a Hiking Journal?
Apps track your GPS but lose the personal details. Blank notebooks don't prompt you to capture information that's useful later. This trail logbook hits the middle: practical structure, personal space.
The hike index at the front lets you find any trail fast. No flipping through pages trying to remember when you did that one loop with the creek crossing.
